Listening for God Part Two

I invite you this morning to take a deep breath.

Take a breath so deep you can feel your pinkie toe tingle.

As you exhale, feel free to let out a sigh.

A sigh for the feelings of anxiety, exhaustion, or overwhelm-ness that can feed and fuel our lives too much.

Let's try that again.  Breathe in a breath that today is brand new.  Exhale recognizing some of the luggage that you've accumulated over the last few weeks.

Sometimes I need to realize that I am carrying the bag or pulling the carry on that someone else gave me, but really is mine.  This comes in the form of advice or telling me what I should do or must do.

Breathe and be.

You are here in this moment.

And this moment is filled with God's presence.

Yesterday I posted a picture of a turtle partly because I needed a brake from thinking about the hurricane.  And partly because I have been in multitask mode since getting back from vacation.  I have been racing and running around thinking maybe I can escape from the reality that there is so much that I can't control.

Partly I posted that picture because I do think in some ways God was encourage ~ offering a testimony ~ about slowing down even things are less than awesome and amazing.

Breathe and be with me.

Breathe and be in joy of those who got power yesterday and the frustration of those who wake up without electricity.

Breathe and be in the warmth of the sun and the heartbreak of flooding along the Peace River.

Breathe and be in this day for there is enough promise and possibility in the presence of God here and now.

With great love to everyone of you...to find that turtle wisdom we need in these days.  Amen.
