Peace Part One

Yesterday in church we lit the candle of Peace.  We prayed for God’s calming, centering, quieting, and compelling center to meet us in our sometimes chaotic and less-than-peace-filled lives.  We celebrated God’s peace to enfold and hold us as a gift – to let God’s peace teach us from the mountain top.  Today, I want to invite you to let loose your inner creativity and using the letters of PEACE come up with a poetic, prayerful acronym that will give voice to how you describe and define your understanding of this word.

Perhaps you might think of PEACE as

P – Presence as an

E – Encounter and experience of

A – Acceptance and Affirmation

C – Calming and Centering us in

E – Eternal Embrace.

OR

P – Prayer Postures

E – Explored

A – And Adopted

C – Calling us to an

E – Eternal Embrace.

OR

P – Pausing to ponder

E – Examining and entering

A – Awakening to awe

C – Creating and converging us to

E – Encourage our Enthusiasm

I love playing with words in ways that can help us in our journey to Advent.  I pray you will share your acronyms either in the comments or with family/friends/fellow church members.  May God’s playful presence awaken your inner creative poet this day as we open our hearts to a peace that surpasses our understanding.
