God of this moment right now, open me to Your presence. It is so easy to get tripped up and trapped in the past. I can be preoccupied with the unpredictable future. To be here in this moment is not a muscle that we exercise very often. Instead we race to the next thing. Instead we complain or criticize what isn't great. Instead we stand on the sidelines shouting instructions (e.g. advice or what we want someone else to do) rather than risk entering the field of play.
Help us, O God, be in this moment here.
Help us notice You in the rising of the sun, the singing of the birds, the soft breeze.
Help us taste Your goodness in cups of coffee and bowls of ice cream.
Help us hear Your love in music that stirs our souls.
Help us nurture a relationship with You for You are here. I am here. And here we are together.
Thank you for this most amazing day for each of us to live our one wild and precious life. Amen.
