Pause for September 1

As we step into September, I invite you to pause and prayerfully write down what is in your mind, heart, and soul today. Some of you have been carrying a lot for the last few years, I know I have. The first of every month gives us space and a place to breathe. What and who is on your mind? What and who is filling your heart? What and you is fueling your soul? Take a few moments this morning to do a full body check in and scan ~ pausing to lean in and listen to all the luggage that has built up.

I wonder what is in the attic of your mind these days?

I wonder what is roaming in your heart right now?

I wonder how is it with your soul? What is the weather pattern today?

Breathe in God’s presence today…for God feeds and fuels our lives with grace.
Breathe in God’s strength today…for God offers gifts that bring smiles to our face.
Breathe in God’s love today…for God is love that overflows and gives life.
Breathe in this moment…with all its sharp shards and sacredness…this one moment.

Breathe out the past that we can rehash endlessly….to be here.
Breathe out the future that we can rehearse to control…to be here.
Breathe out the present moment that often has more than we could ever explore or exhaust… to be.

Not to improve or challenge…just be.
God says to Moses, “My name is…I AM”. Present tense being right here and now.

May this truth inhabit and infuse every moment this day and week. Amen.
