On
this second day of Lent,
I
want to reflect on the word, “Repent!”
I
don’t do this to torment
Or
evoke guilt or cause resent.
You
see, repent, means to go a new way.
Repent
means to see this as a new day.
Repent
is about noticing where we’ve strayed
Letting
God’s wisdom in our life have sway and say.
Repent
says, “I took an unplanned and unexpected exit ramp,”
Or,
“Where I am finding myself right now, I never meant to camp.”
It
is about naming and noticing where I’m feeling cramped.
Or
how I need to revise or restore or renew or even revamp.
Repent
is simply to find your way back,
It
is about naming/noticing where you’ve gotten off track
Or
where life is out of whack,
And
that where the current way of doing things might lack.
So
come with me and you will see;
A
new world of God’s grace and imagination.
It
is a holy place and sacred space;
For
us to be fully part of God’s good creation.
I
pray today you will play with ways your life might be replenished in holy warmth
with the One who offers grace and love that meets us in unexpected ways.
