Musical Markings

 

As we continue to explore and express what the unfinished symphony of our life is offering, as we prayerfully seek to be in concert with God, I invite you to think about other musical marking on the score of your soul.  Are there repeat signs when you go back over a well-known melody or phrase?  Repeats happen at mealtimes, volunteer opportunities, worship, meetings, doctor’s appointments and the roads we take.  Where are the repeats in your life today?  Are there any codas in your life?  Coda is a sign to jump forward to the ending.  Maybe you saw the coda coming in a relationship or a repeat where you felt stuck or stymied in life ~ or maybe the coda came out of nowhere.  So much of what we see in the dust and debris of the daily news is a fog that doesn’t allow us to have equilibrium, so much (too much) is happening around us that our brains (or at least my brain) are adding to the smoke and fog! 

 

Keep writing down the pace of the notes of life this week, keep paying attention to the dynamics that you are playing, and now where are other musical markings appearing in the score of your soul?  May this invitation awaken you to all that is going on around and within you in these days.  Amen.
