Happy Epiphany
everyone! Today is the day the Christian
church celebrates the arrival of the Wise Ones with their gifts of gold, frankincense,
and myrrh. You might celebrate today by:
~ Reading Matthew
2:1-12 ~ you might ponder prayerfully gifts you can offer God, others, and
ourself. Or you might ponder prayerfully
the road you are traveling or ask yourself the question from Sunday, “What am I
searching for?” I know, you didn’t think
that was actual homework, did you?
~ You could sing
over and over again, “We Three Kings”
~ Going outside
tonight to gaze at the stars remembering that it was a star that led the Wise
Ones to Jesus
~ Since today is
the 12th day of Christmas you could giving someone the gift of 12
drummers drumming, 11 pipers piping, 10 Lords a-leaping…you know the rest.
~ Naming and
claiming where you need God’s guidance and grace (I have a LONG list). Epiphany means awakening, where do you need new
insight or ideas into life.
~ Consider this
quote, Clement of Alexandria said, "The Logos (Word) of God has become
human so that you might learn from a human being how a human being may become
divine." That quote will sit in
your soul for a while!
~Sharing the gift
of time with others because our Epiphanies, awakenings, and awareness grows
when we are connected with others.
I pray God’s
blessings to you however you decide to celebrate Epiphany today.
